Isophorone (IPH)

Isophorone is a widely used chemical compound that serves as an essential intermediate in the production of several industrially important compounds. Isophorone is primarily utilized in the manufacture of Isophorone Diamine, Isophorone Diisocyanate, Trimethyl-cyclohexanone, among other compounds. It is also used in the manufacturing process of meta xylenol and trimethylcyclohexanol, which are commonly used in antiseptic applications. Isophorone is an excellent solvent due to its outstanding dissolving power for many binders, resins, and other chemical products. This property makes it the most preferred solvent in various applications such as resin lacquer, silkscreen ink, coil coating, and metal decorative coating formulations. It imparts high storage stability, improves the flow, and heightens the gloss of the formulation. Isophorone also finds its use in PVC and Vinyl co-polymer processing due to its universal solvent power. Moreover, it is a useful carrier solvent for the herbicide Propanil in rice crops and is also used in the formulation of pesticides, where it imparts exceptional emulsifiability and emulsion stability when used with aromatic diluents.
