Cumene
Cumene is a versatile chemical compound that finds widespread industrial use due to its diverse applications. It is a crucial raw material in the production of various chemicals, including phenol, acetone, and alpha-methylstyrene. Additionally, cumene is used in the production of pesticide intermediates such as para-cumidine, as well as acetophenone and diisopropyl benzene. The compound also serves as a solvent for fats and resins, and as a thinner for paints, enamels, and lacquers. Cumene hydroperoxide and dicumyl peroxide, both derived from cumene, are used as initiators in polymerization processes, grafting of vinyl monomers onto polymer backbones, and curing of resins and rubber. Cumene is also used as an additive in aviation gasoline to improve the octane rating of internal combustion engines. Its versatility and usefulness make it an essential compound in various industrial processes.

Poly DIPB
- A radical source in combination with brominated aliphatic hydrocarbons (HBCD) or brominated polymeric alternative products (“FR-63”) for fire retardant applications of polymers, particularly polystyrene and polypropylene.
- The thermally stable CUROX®CC-P3 will not decompose during polymerisation or extrusion processing, thereby being available during fire incidents. CUROX®CC-P3 shows a very efficient synergistic effect on brominated compounds, i.e. dosing levels of those can be reduced significantly.
