It’s also a carrier solvent for the herbicide Propanil for rice crops. TMC NOL is used as an Intermediate for sunscreen homosalate, for cyclandalate, and vascodilator in perfumes and flavours. It finds application in the preparation of perfumes. However, its major application is in the preparation of various derivatives like Acetates and Salicylate for cosmetic applications.
